Conversione JeditorPane Jtext pane

Vorrei unire questi due codici, relativi a due text editor con funzioni diverse, ma non ho idea di come farlo. la prima cosa che sapevo di dover fare era sostituire il JtextPane del primo codice con un Jeditorpane , presente nel secondo, ma già qui ho riscontrato problemi dato che non riconosce la funzione append. qualcuno potrebbe aiutarmi ? grazie mille

    Né JTextPane, né JEditorPane dispongono di un metodo append(). Sei sicuro che non si tratti di una JTextArea?

    JTextPane e JEditorPane sono componenti molto più "sofisticati" di una semplice JTextArea: essi lavorano con un Document, che rappresenta il loro contenuto (che, generalmente, ha una struttura complessa), a cui vengono associati diversi stili, che rappresentano il modo in cui il contenuto appare visivamente.

    Una JTextArea, al contrario, rappresenta una banalissima area di testo semplice, senza alcuna formattazione, né struttura complessa.

    1) Componenti per il trattamento di testo semplice (single-line simple text)
    2) Componenti per il trattamento di testo semplice (multi-line simple text)
    3) Componenti per il trattamento di testo formattato / con stile (multi-line styled text)

    JTextArea fa parte del blocco 2.
    JTextPane / JEditorPane fanno parte del blocco 3.

    Ovviamente, tali componenti non sono "immediatamente intercambiabili", occorre un lavoro approfondito per sostituire un componente di un blocco con uno di un altro blocco e questo, in particolar modo, tra i componenti dei blocchi 1-2 e quelli del blocco 3.
