The Role
Herzum is looking for a highly experienced and multilingual Senior Project Manager (Mandarin / English speaker) to lead the end-to-end delivery of a greenfield Data Center construction / Fabrication plant / Office building project in Germany (Dresden).
This role is pivotal in managing the full project lifecycle, from pre-sales through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Data Center infrastructure and strong leadership capabilities to effectively coordinate with international stakeholders, including teams in Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the full lifecycle of the Data Center construction project / Fabrication plant project / Office building project, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Align project execution with organizational goals and client expectations.
- Develop and implement project standards, templates, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Oversee risk management planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Team Management
- Directly manage and coordinate a team of professionals including:
- Cabling Project Managers responsible for structured cabling systems (SCS) and cleanroom deployments.
- BIM & CAD Drafters responsible for shop drawings, as-built documentation, and coordination with customer design teams.
- Data Center Project Manager responsible for the DC building activities. - Ensure team alignment with project milestones, quality standards, and client requirements.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between counterparts (client, suppliers etc.).
- Facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and suppliers.
- Support pre-sales activities including proposal development, scope definition, and technical planning.
Technical Oversight
- Ensure compliance with data center technology standards including:
- Equipment rack and rPDU delivery.
- Power and cooling systems.
- FM200 fire suppression systems.
- Structured cabling (CommScope, Nexans, Corning, etc.). - Supervise construction methodologies and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Additional info:
- Start date: 1st April 2026.
- Work mode: Hybrid in Dresden (Germany).
Competenze richieste
- 10+ years of experience in managing large-scale Data Center or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in structured cabling systems and cleanroom environments (semiconductor industry preferred).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, WBS, cost control, risk management etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage subcontractors.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Engineering or technical degree is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the Telco sector.
- Familiarity with German construction regulations and permitting processes.
- Experience in pre-sales and proposal development for infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in tools MS Office Suite.
- Proficient in German.
