PING con vb6

Buongiorno a tutti,
vorrei sapere se esiste un altro metodo per oltre alla libreria ICMP.DLL per effettuare un ping verso un server per testare o meno la connessione.
Il problema è che se effettuo un PING da Win 7 o Win 8.1 e il cavo di rete è scollegato mi da esito positivo. Con Win XP invece dava esito negativo.

    Mi sembra "molto difficile" che il ping con il cavetto scollegato funzioni. Forse usi male le funzioni con i nuovi SO.

    Ciao Oregon questo è il codice che uso ma secondo me è corretto. Non riesco a capire perchè con W7 e W8.1 non va. O meglio se attacco e stacco il cavo di rete poi funziona. Ma se accendo il PC con il cavo di rete scollegato e faccio subito il ping da VB mi sa esito positivo.

    Non ha alcun senso né logico né pratico, sciorinare decine e decine di codice come hai appena fatto tu.
    Oltretutto, gravissimo (!!!) senza rispettare il Regolamento.

    Ma ti costa così tanta fatica leggerlo?

    Bella figura, appena iscritto, violi già il Regolamento. Complimenti.
    Il risultato che ottieni è che nessuno leggerà quel codice perché non è formattato, quindi incomprensibile, e quindi nessuno ti potrà aiutare.

    Il listati di codice diventano illeggibili se incollati senza formattazione.
